Default Outside temp gauge on '04 STi

Hello all-

Does anyone know if it is possible to calibrate the outside temperature gauge on my '04 STi? Seems like it reads at least 15 deg lower than it should.

Chris

Just a guess but is there a mode selection to change the reading between Farenheit and Celsius?

Default Adjustment for outside temp gauge on

The display already shows F and not C so that is not the problem. Where is the sensor for the outside temp gauge? Maybe there is an adjustment setting near the sensor.

If you look at the bottom of the larger opening in the front grill (where air flows through the radiator) I believe you'll find the temp sensor. It's a small black numb just to the right of the cars center, directly in front of the radiator.

Your temp difference may be explained by the wind-chill. If this is indeed the temp sensor, it will be exposed to significant wind & other elements.

The temp sensor, like any other inanimate object, isn't affected by windchill. My OBS's temp display is very accurate when the car is moving, but it doesn't adjust to changes in temperature right away. If on a 0 C morning I leave my garage with the display reading 8 C, it takes a couple of miles for the display to slowly count down to 0.
