Default Tach signal for shift light?

99RS can i get a tach signal off the back of the instrument cluster? i was checking with a volt meter couldn't find a tach signal. I know its the connector all the way to the right of the cluster.

I do not believe you can find a tach signal with a multimeter anyway. Supposedly your suppose to use AC 12 volt. However I have never gotten a reading even from a known working tach wire. I am not an electronics person so I dont pretend to know what this means but the signal is some kind of a waveform and not true AC. Anyway it doe not suprize me that you found no reading.
