Does anyone know if any of the aftermarket pitch stops (e.g. Kartboy) prevent the JDM TMIC from fitting correctly? I currently have the V7 TMIC, and I would like to get a stiffer pitch stop, but I think the Y-pipe already touches or comes real close to the OEM pitch stop. If you are not familiar, the Kartboy pitch stop is not skinnier in the middle like the OEM one.

Thanks!

The BPV hose and the TB hose are the same. The Y-pipe will no longer be needed because the JDM TMIC has a solid Y-pipe. I actually hacked the bottom elbow off my SAMCO Y-pipe to complete the connection to the turbo. However, if the TMIC you buy comes with an elbow, you won't need to do that either.

I just bought JDM STI TMIC core off of a member here. Will post pictures when I get mine.

I plan to use everything off from USDM STI TMIC.

-Punisher,

How's your JDM TMIC holding up with plastic WRX y-pipe and throttle hose? ever found a way to secure left side of TMIC?

Yup. When I put Samco hoses on in March I fixed it. I just had to put the left bracket on first and also put the right bracket on the intercooler then the car, and not the car then onto the intercooler if you know what I mean. lol. Also the hoses were just fine all the while. I just wanted the cosmetic red look. Which BTW was not worth it at all. What a pain in the @$$. when I installed JDM v7 on my buddy's car several years back, we never had any fitment issue. I believe he had one of aftermarket y-hose.

Will see what happens when I try to use my modified y-hose (from USDM STI) on V7s... will also use stock WRX throttle body hose.

Every hose Samco and OEM was easy to put on. It was the Samco 'Inlet to BPV" hose that was a pain getting onto the BPV. As pictured.

What's the part number /SN written on the JDM TMIC? I just got my JDM TMIC, but not sure if mine is really JDM or not...

Finally received my JDM STI TMIC and had a chance to install it in my car today. Fitment was great, much better than USDM STI TMIC and only modification needed was bending AC line slightly. JDM STI TMIC is noticeably bigger than USDM STI TMIC and JDM shroud/ splitter fit much better on JDM TMIC.

Here are pictures of JDM STI TMIC.

JDM vs. USDM:

To answer your PM, I don't believe that is what my sticker looks like. I think mines red, but I could be wrong, I do have a real bad memory.

- Punisher, please ignore that picture. Found out that I was shipped USDM STI TMIC instead of JDM STI TMIC. I had to ship it back and get correct JDM STI TMIC.

fyi: there are two different JDM STi intercoolers.

A 2002-2005 and a 2006+. The later is a touch smaller and has a slightly different rear end tank. Both share the same mounting brackets from what I have read - although don't tighten any up until all are mounted

I don't know if it helps any but all my photos, info, and links are pertaining to the JDM v7 STi TMIC. I'm not even sure what the second one you listed is.

great post and writeup, seems punisher had the same initial bolt up issues i had with my ic and im debating if its jdm or not. the rear y hose has the sti red elbow and an oem hose just like the jdm units but the side number in blue is a 100 not a 30 like jdm. It bolted up and the jdm 02-03 splitter lands perfect on the IC..... the top to bottom on the inner section is 6.5inches i think the v7 is larger. is the v8 slightly smaller or could mine be usdm? It certainly have the hose issues guys are talking about. Look similar to yours? hmmmm quick link (cut paste prolly) to few pics...

this last pic was before bolting the left of the IC hence the tilt

I'm not sure if you know, but the v7 is definetly the biggest TMIC, v8 is smaller, not sure about spec-c, etc
