Im seeing them. Looks bad... bad ass that is.

You do the install yourself? How do you like the 6.5s in the rear tops? seems like a better spot for them.

p.s. If you did do the install yourself do you think you could shoot over to this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=535069
and try and help me anyway possible?

ha
Thanks

Thanks for starters,

Yes, thats a home-brew install. Bout a weeks worth of nights in my pops garage.. It's also version 2.0 as you may see in the 2nd pick, i had a different set up and had to re-do "on the fly" when an amp and my EQ took a dump (both over 10yrs old)

The version 1.0 install looked like this...

Your link doesn't seem to work, just refer me directly to the post, i'll see what i can do.... Wait I think i already replied...

If you were to do it again, what would you do different? What are the advantages/disadvantages of having the subs faced forward like that vs the other direction?

It has been done over several times now .... Every time with the subs forward, simply for my design reasions. Usually you yield better results with the subs facing rearward. Initaly the install was done in haste due to various reasions and without access to the proper tools, i didn't have the piece behind the seat for the box front to mount to, the amp set up was totaly different...this was the version 0.5

That changer was mounted wrong (which i knew and didn't like but was the only way at the time with the time i had) Alot of compremises were made in the version 0.5 of the system, do to my terrible lack of time and tools.

The final rebuild (in the first set of pics and the third pic) used alot of the previous design in it... the box was re-done and the front baffle made, the changer was moved. (I had access to TOOLz) It was set up for my SS and Directed amps (running the front and sub respectivly) and when my SS and my audio control EQQ fizziled i had to get another directed to match, which was installed on the fly (i have 5-6 SS ref500z and a ref300 blown in the garage, all over 10yrs old..) So there is another rebuild comming here very soon, soon as it warms up enough for me to get out in my pops garage (I live near the toolz now)

I might do something sick in this rebuild.... I'll keep ya posted

Question bass

hey aaron...thats a pretty sealed system
how does it sound?
I would worry that you are gona kill your amps with them pretty much mounted on your box...bass vibrates the shiat out of capacitors and the rest of the amplifiers guts...

I had my amp mounted on top of my box for like 6 months...then it started sounding crappy...turned out my 2 12's had rearanged the insides of my amp... be warned!

Here's what I got in the 'hatch. I'm currently running 2 10" JL Audio's, one in each corner in custom molded fiberglass. Kinda hard to see in this picture. But the single rear firing enclosure is what i'm working on now, that one is just a mold so I can duplicate it easier and maybe start selling them. Soon there will be 2, the second one mirrors the one in the picture. I do like the more showy, non-stealth installs, that's for sure. Maybe someday i'll add a spare tire sub for the 3rd 10" (or 5th!)

if you were going to put two 15's and 2 decent size amps in your trunk, how would you do it? Not quite sure how i want to have everything sit in my trunk. I realize i am not going to have much room but i dont want to lose all of it.

why bother killing all your trunk space with HUGE 15's when you can get some DAMN good thump out of something a helluva lot smaller? the new solo baric 8'' woofers go down to 18 hz ! thats LOWER than the human hear can hear...and they friggin POUND

get 2 of those and your all set...

just my 2 cents
