Default found money for 2000 gc

I found financing for an gc impreza through a dealer, but now i have a problem. I can get an old 1955 ford f-100 w/428 big block for $3500 which i can rebuild and sell to make a few thousand dollars, after about a year, and $8000. the funds made in the sale will go toward an sti, or i can get a 2000 4dr rs. What would you guys do??

Calculate your payments. How much and for how long will it be if you got the GC and how much would the payments on the STi be? Are you 100% sure that you can make a few grand on the Ford? Other then the financial perspective of all this i think you would be more satisfied with the STi then the GC because you wouldnt have to put as much money into the STi as you would the GC. I like the look of the old RS but performance wise the STi would be worth the wait.

How many classic cars have you done? If the answer is less than five then theres a VERY small chance that you're going to make any money. Making money on restored cars is not as easy as it may look. Ask anyone who owns old cars, you almost always put more into it than you get out. If you're gonna do it, do it out of pride and the desire to own a bad-a old car, not to make money on it.

ins for me is 450 a mo for an sti, so that plus about 300-350 a mo in payments puts me around 750 a mo. where as i could get a gc for 11500 so payments would be about 250 a mo plus 245 a mo in ins, so around 500a mo. both for 60 mos. if i wait a year, then i could say i build a classic truck with a biig block, and i own an sti!! i might opt for a 2000 4 dr with sti components after the truck though cuz that body is wicked! Im going for the truck now and the sti later. ...i think

How do you work out 300-350/mo on 30,000 car when your payments on a 11,500 car are 250? Is that including alot more down? Like proceeds from the old truck?

you got it! if i can get out what i put in to the truck (highly unlikely) then my payments on the sti will be lower., even if i get out 3/4 of it, my car payments will be less cuz the money i get for the truck will be a large sum rather than the nickels and dimes i put into it. I assumed about 15000 for the truck, so...the math is that.

IIRC Sean is the only one who jumped that car the way it was meant to be jumped.... I remember when everyone thought the original jump pictures were photoshopped.
