My guess is Class 3. The S4 is in there, as is the 225hp TT, and the E36 M3.

Betcha its A stock or superstock, guess it depends on the final spec. But if its the 227hp variant, I bet it can run in SS.

I'd say it will probably be 3 too.

Anyone else notice the 2.5RS Impreza wasn't on there anywhere? Just the Legacy 2.5 GT and Impreza 2.2L...

SCCA SCAC will not classify a car based on rumors. It will wait until the 2002 WRX is in dealerships and confirm that 1,000 units will be available to consumers in the first 12 months. My guess is that the WRX will be in the new BS or DS based on the rumor that it weighs 2900 lbs and has 220 hp for next year but probably show up in the Fastrack tech bulletin instead of the rulebook. Be patient.

well if they stick it with the eclipse GS-X then it will be in DS with the type-R and the E30 M3. us R's are going to have enough trouble with the E30 i really rather not see the WRX in there as well. i'd like to win a few autox's next season.

There an AWD Talon TSi that runs in GS here. Is it supposed to be in DS?

Ridin...

GS has been the home of the GSX (Edit: All Eclipse/Talon turbos FWD and AWD) for at least the past 5 years.

Next year, the SCCA is thinking about changing the classing structure.

All I will say is that the WRX and the RS should not be in the same class in stock next year or whenever this goes into effect. That's probably why you don't see the RS on the list yet. Maybe SCCA want's to see what the WRX pans out to be?

It's all rumor, but to me the most logical place for the WRX is AS. Howard Duncan doesn't think the stock class re-org is going to get done for 2001, probably 2002. However if it did get done, I would expect it to be in class 3 with the other slower AS cars (3kGT VR4, for example).
