Default 2.25 or 2.5 inch Midpipe?

Which would be better on my 1.8L? I have heard that 2.25 is suggested. What would be the problems with running a 2.5 inch midpipe? Any input would be great!

Also would the stock WRX midpipe bolt up?

Thanks,

Jon

Nevermind...

I think I found what I was looking for... I knew I read this thread before...
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ht=2.5+midpipe

Anyway, can someone confirm that the WRX midpipe is 2.5?

Also still interested if it will bolt up... because I can get a free one...

no i believe their midpipe is 2.25 and i dont think it will directly bolt up.

i think 2.5 is WAYY to big for a 1.8L engine, some use it on the 2.5L and like it.

i would go to a custom muffler place and have them make me a midpipe and then get yourself a nice muffler. or buy like a stromung that has a midpipe already that should work

not 2.5" and won't bolt up

I wouldn't go over a 1.75" dia pipe for a 1.8

They don't sound to bad. I don't have one but I have heard an Apexi N1 catback that sounded pretty nice . Had the boxer thump and deep growl, and not a honda high pitch at high rpm.
