Nice web page, prices are a bit high. KYB AGX's for $424 and change. Nobody should pay more than $400 for them.

Hmm, is this Trey Cobb maybe? I remember he was selling Cusco parts for a while and was located in Texas.

edit: Nevermind, it IS Trey. His background is in RX7's. In the past he has gotten reasonably good reviews from customers iirc.

Nicely executed site, I might add. Caught one or two typos, but organization and design are v. nice.

Have a Nice Day?

$424 is a competitive price and I'd pay it if the shop was local and offered good service.

I bought mine for $389 shipped from PST, but none of the major retailers (Summit, etc.) can touch that price so why should we hold a new Subaru tuner to that level?

Price alone does not make a good tuner, folks.

There's also a new tuner in Connecticut, Acceleration Pluss. A guy named Craig Damaschi Emailed me the other day to introduce his shop to fellow subie owners (he owns a 2.5RS). He stated that he is set-up to be an authorized supplier of parts from Mike Shields at SPD tuning. He even mentioned some discounts on stuff from SPD. Something like 10% at first, but he may be able to offer greater discounts if he does enough business with Mike. This seems strange in that Mike nor any of the other authorized "SPD suppliers" have ever offerred such discounts as far as I know.

Any Connecticut members been to this shop yet?

I don't mind paying a couple extra duckets in exchange for excellent service. I don't know if that is exactly the case with Cobb Tuning, but time will tell.

Well, I do my own work, so service isn't an issue. Hopefully he'd give the local guys a price break, because $30 over what you can order it for... that's alot. IMO.

I do support supporting the local guys though, whenever possible!

Service includes returning calls, being responsive to customers, making things right if there is a problem, keeping promises, shipping promptly, billing properly, etc, etc, etc...

Don't worry Kabong! I'm still here!

Forgot to mention, I did notice they are a bit more pricey. For me, money doesn't come that easily....gotta be frugal.

Hey Kabong...what the hell are you ranting at? hehehe!

Don't worry, I saw it.

I apologized to Kabong via a private message before I deleted my rant.

Here's a mini-rant: frugal people have Volk TE-37's?

Hmmmmmm... Well, damn, lots of nice N/A stuff but no forced induction tuning? I DO like that piggyback computer, though. Well, if I keep going as I am now, I'll have 18k/year and my warantee will be over within 2 years. I guess I'll decide then between turbo or supercharger or trading it in for a new one.... I just hate being passed while at WOT by a f**kin Oldsmobile Intrigue with 215hp. Absolutely pathetic.

BTW, does anyone know if there are any Scoob tuners or shops around the Chicago area? Seems like everything is everwhere BUT here.

I hear ya, 8Complex. Try being in Minnesota! Not only is there nothing here, it's 1,000+ miles to the nearest shop. Oh well, maybe someday.

Imprezer,
If your post was referring to Mike of SPD, then I believe the answer to your question is no. SPD is the only importer of Prodrive stuff. Until now you could only buy from him or RalliSpec(which was the only other shop authorized to sell his products until now). It appears he has authorized this new shop in Connecticut as well.

Thumbs up

I got my motor/tranny mounts from Trey a while ago. Very nice guy, and the parts showed up when he told me they would. That was a new one. Ther price was the best out there at the time.

Remember guys, the more competition there is the lowert the prices will drop.

If your reading, nice looking site Trey.

Hello,

Scooter, according to Prodrive, they have never and will never give anyone an exclusive license to sell their products. They do not have any sort of licensing agreements with anyone in the United States. They simply prefer to deal with customers who purchase in large quantities. Mike Shields purchases in larger quantities than you or I, so they prefer to deal with him and will give him lower prices than they will give us (and they'll actually respond to his e-mails which is not always the case for end-users like us).

However, Prodrive will do the exact same for any other person who wants to sell their stuff. When someone once posted that they were a distributor of Prodrive stuff (I can't remember who it was), I remember Mike S. telling me that he was going to "nip that in the bud." Mr. Smith at Prodrive wrote me to tell me what I told you above, in this post. I guess he must have told Mike the same thing since Mike never got back to me about that other person

So, yes, Dale, Trey, Minnam, or anyone else can offer Prodrive parts without going through Mike Shields.

anyway back to the subject!!!!!!!

Trey is an extremely competent businessman....so you should not be worried with customer service. I have had many dealings in the past with him and they have all been pleasureable...so basically I am thrilled now!

Kelley~you are correct about Trey. He is from www.rx-7.com or Rotary Performance as you might know it.
