Question 2002: RS, TS, OBS Prices...

Any guesses as to how much the OTHER impreza models will be?

Im hoping base around $17k, but thats hope and not reality...

Current RS is aprox. $19k, and the new ones likely to be higher... The Wagons generaly cost more...

Then again, Sub needs to keep the prices down to compete...

Any Ideas or Infor?

here' won't be an RS since all Imprezas will be 2.5l. I think that said the OBS 2.5l would be the expensive one for N/A imprezas....

Check out this link I posted from a week back:
http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Forum1/HTML/015160.html

There will be an RS and a TS. These will be the base models. The new WRX will take the place of the old RS.

Looks liks RS IS the base (TS is the RS wagon), and 2.5 engine is the bottom of the line. WRX comes in sedan and wagon. The OBS is here to stay.

Scoobie dealers I've chatted with indicated that Legacy Outbacks and Foresters are their big money makers. They let RS's go for just over invoice, and OBS's can be had for invoice. I'd expect this to continue, so 2.5L OBS's will probably not be much more expensive - perhaps still well under $20K. The WRX will probably be pricey for the first couple years as demand exceeds supply. The 2.5L OBS may turn out to be the Scoobie deal for the next couple years while the WRX market settles. Hmmmm...

Well just look at all the 2.2l models. which model is the most expensive one? a 2.2l OBS. Now if all are 2.5l models which one will be the expensive model then? I won't be surprised if it's the 2.5l OBS since the 2.5RS will be relegated to another L/TS with a 2.5l engine it it. So it's simple math equation. That suck. I hope the WXR price will not be too high. Luckiyly in Canada, price gouge is illegal. Must sell at MSRP or lower.

No, the base sedan WILL be called RS...
Whether or not it will incorporate the RS "sportyness" is yet to be known...

OBS will be most expensive other than the WRX sedan/wagon ($1k for Wagon, $1k for Outback)
