Default Defi BF guages only on w/parking lights

Hey guys,

I just got a set of BF defi guages installed and they're only on when i turn on the parking or the headlights, it's not a bad thing imo it gives me the option of running with them off if i choose to. now my question is: Is this normal or is it wired wrong???

Thanks guys

That's wired wrong. They probably were searching for a hot wire with the doors open (so cabin lights, glove box lights, etc were on) so the wire they found (probably behind the glove box or similar) were actually `hot' at that moment. If it really bothers you, take it back...and sooner than later. Otherwise, enjoy the super-cool-ability to turn them on or off with a flick of the wrist

The shop I had wire up my Defis actually asked me if I wanted them wired that way. Apparently some people prefer that set-up so they can switch the gauge lights off whilst driving for a more "sleeperish" appearance. I opted for them to be run off of the switched power, so that they power up with my V1, and just a moment after the stock gauges.

they most likely just wired up the accessory wire from the bf gauges with the illumination wire. i don't see why anyone would want them wired that way, how are people going to see your gauges while you're moving and why would you want to drive around with your lights on all the time just so your gauges will turn on?
