Oh joy, what a difference it makes, a deep rumble, beautyful sound!!
Build quality is superb, fit and finish, too. But the spring loaded bolts are a pain to put on. I only got one on and the other is temp. substituted by a regular bolt. Will get the other one put on tomorrow, promise. The Kumho's are stiff as hell, you turn the wheel, instant change of direction, no squealing whatsoever. The guys at discount tire told me that you can order them at their place for a better price!! Marius 99 RS blue

Are they the Kuhmo 712's everyone's been talking about?? If so, excellent choice! I may just get a set for myself (a little treat for my scooby!)

Marius,
If you have the same Borla cat-back I have, the flange doesn't meet-up with the cat the same way the stock part does. I cut the stock springs in half to fit. I'm still looking for some smaller replacement springs since I don't see the cut springs as a long term solution. I'll let you know when I find a good set of springs. You don'y want to leave it the way you have it because it's lop-sided and you might have a leak because of this. |

I replaced the springs w/ stock chevy muffler springs which are about 1/2 to 2/3 of the stock springs...but I just replaced the cat back system again after 1 month w/the borla. It is only 2" pipe and too loud w/ the headers. The new system is a magnaflow SS with a smaller tip than the borla but a 2.25 ID cat back. The borla does sound very good and
aggressive, but I would rather "speak softly and carry a big stick":-)The new one was 260 installed and they also put a small bend in the headers so they didn't rest on the suspension...but the rest of the header is low quality anyway. The exhaust is higher build quality. |
