Lightbulb I can't see *****

hey guys.....so im driving and right and out of nowhere all my console lights shut off ( gauges, radio, and ac lights) the funny thing is that if i turn off or turn on my car they come back on, but they will only last a matter of minutes. is this a bulb issue or a fuse issue...... i checked the fuses but they seem to be cool. if any one can help direct me to light it will be greatly apreciated

yeah, probably a poor connection. Its definately not a bulb issue. It may be that the relay that switches them on/off may be malfunctioning. I would check all connections that occur BEFORE the gauges and the hvac controls go their seperate ways, because the problem can't be after that because its happening to both of them. good luck.....

Sounds like the illumination control unit. It's around $100 bucks at a dealer and you can install it yourself if you have a hayes guide not tough at all

I blew my Illumination Control Module out a couple years ago messing around with my stereo . You should be able to get it from a junkyard for like $20. I did. Just tell them it's a relay... Yeah, I called the dealer and they quoted me $160. It's a tiny lil' thing the size or a 9V battery.

Best of luck

maybe you hit a bump or the fuses were just not connecting right.
