Hey all. I just bought a new VF22, and was wondering about it's placement relative to things.
I have heard that if a VF22 was put in in any other direction aside from how it's supposed to on a subaru, that it will have problems feeding/draining oil. Is that true? I would also like to know about clocking. Will making the compressor and exhaust side face the same direction screw up any oil/cooling/balance settings? Thank you in advance for any replies. Joel

Hey, I just bought a new VF22 too! Hopefully I'll have it by Thursday. I've never heard of any problems that you describe, but if anyone has info, it'd be great to have it out. I asked Larry Ganz about clocking the VF22 and he said that there isn't any problem with doing it.

Oh. Cool. Then I will do just that.
Just so I know what's going on, all clocking consists of is unscrewing the clamp from the center housing to the turbine housing, and rotating right? Thanks, Joel |

Don't know, I don't have the turbo yet, and haven't had that close of a look. When I clocked the TD04, I removed the snap ring under the compressor housing and removed the compressor housing. Then I had to cut a little notch in the center section to accommodate the key on the compressor housing after rotating it to where I wanted it.
