Question Silly question - License plate protector

Alright, I know that this isn't important to a lot of people; but I want something to dress up plate on the back. To me, the license plate on the rear needs some type of frame/cover to look better. I am not looking for anything flashy, just something very clean and simple that fills out a little of the space back there. And it would be going on a silver STi if that helps.

Also, I have looked at those anti-photo radar type of covers and thought that might be a good idea too; but I am not sure if they are legal in Ohio. And I would really hate to be pulled over by a cop who might notice it and he hassle me about it, legal or not.

Anyone have any suggestions what they think would look good and where to get it at a good price?

TIA,

I often see simple chrome or silver frames with an etching that says either "STi", "WRX", or "impreza". That might look good. They should be about US$10.

ebay has a lot of them that say wrx, sti etc. also there is a guy that makes really neat license plate frames, im not sure that you could get something written on them but he does offer the option of shiny or buffed silver. www.autodude.com

Alright, so I am thinking that the following frame wouldn't be obnoxious looking...

As for a cover for the plate, I am still on the fence about it. I would like a cover that would protect the plate from getting dirty and all, but I am not really sure if it is worth the time and trouble. Especially one of the Anti-photo radar types. Anyone own or have seen one of these in person? I wonder how noticable it is when walking by a car. Like I said before I would hate for a cop to notice it and hassle me (which around here they find any reason they can even if your car is parked in your driveway while you are inside the house). So any opinions on that I would appreciate. BTW the reason I consider this at all is because I have noticed a few new red light cams in my area all of a sudden be installed. And it isn't that I am running red lights or anything, but I am not real up on their timing (as in running a yellow light is technically considered illegal in some counties around Ohio).

I agree that fake CF is tacky, but I don't think anyone would notice from any distance that it is CF looking of the lettering. It would be especially tacky IMO since I have no other bits of CF anywhere on my car. But thanks for the positive vote overall on it

I think that plate covers are illegal in a lot of states irregardless of their effect on radar/laser. On the other hand I have custom plates with covers and have never been bothered.
