Question Heres a ??? What Rpm do the RS valves start to Float

I am planning on headwork anyways...Stage 2 or 3 port and polish with O-rings. Maybe bigger valves and I am wondering what the Stock Valve springs can handle...or is time to look for those as well...

I think before you concern yourself with valve float on this particular engine, you need to worry about piston speeds.

What else are you doing to this engine? Unless you are adding cams, you dont have the power in the upper rev's to be worth revving it that high, besides that you can keep your foot buried as deep in the throttle as you want, but the rev limiter is going to keep the RPM's in a safe range anyway..

Well if you must know I am planning a complete build of the bottom end...Pistons, Rods, some other tricks..So to answer your ??? I am looking to fortify the engine before I go to the world of Forced induction...However; I am also contemplating a COMPLETE VER5 swap...Weighing my options ya know...The complete Swap would include motor, tranny, Diffs, ECU..new Grp N clutch, and ECU upgrade...but thats another story..

Well there ya go

I dont think too many people can attest to what RPM they'll float since we only see 6200R's. BUT, as long as you are going that far with it, valve springs will be cheap insurance

valve float depends entirely on cam specs, valvetrain weight and spring rates. none of which we'll know on your built-up engine, so we can't help.
