Post Power loss due to ignition kill

Hello,

My buddy got his bike dyno'd recently, and was told he lost a couple of HP, due to his ignition kill. The garage said the splice affected ignition timing. Has anyone heard of this before, and does it apply to cars?

Stavros:

The ignition kill on a security system should only prevent the car from starting. It should not affect the car once it is running.

Are you confusing the ignition kill with a rev limiter? The rev limiter is controlled by the engine computer and prevents the engine from over-rev damage.
