Post the hood scoops

i was thinking of taking off the plastic coverings that make the scoops non-functional. I was wondering if anyone has tried this and did you have any adverse effects. I know that its used to cool the turbo down in japanese versions, but i was just curious to see if it would help a N/A car.

thanx

Seems If you have a cone filter there, it can actually screw up your intake a bit... maybe 1-2 hp loss, but if you use spacers, its okay and still lets the hot air out. I was offended that they were blocked and removed them.

ok...i always wanted to ask this, can i just put the HKS Super Mega Flow underneath the hood scoop and open it the scoop? under idea...the two vents on the hood, can i open the one that is right on top of the intake piping and get some air in there? would any of these ideas be beneficial?

Do a search. The topic's been discussed to death.

I've taken mine off with a aftermarket intake(jc sports) with no side effects, just put the covers in the trunk incase you get caught by some bad weather and throw a 5/16 wrench in the glove box, i've used a overpass for cover.....with the covers off it's gotta help something, your not sucking hot engine air?
