Wow... that looks really good, even better then the flourescent light grating that was used in the other one. I'll definetly have to check out your instructions when they finally get up online.

I should point out that the original idea is from here:
http://members.xoom.com/northursalia...d/grillmod.htm

I don't want to take credit for coming up with the idea only changing it to fit my application. Mostly because I couldn't find the exact same grating locally.

Thanks for letting me steal your idea Brian

Oh yeah, I read that other one, but plastic compared to that expanded steel... Well you know which will win in a fight with a rock, that is for sure.

Smile Getting Grilled

FWIW

Last weekend I put some grill material in the opening in the front bumper of my 99' RS to protect the condenser and radiator. I did this because I was hit with a rock that put a big dent in the support just below the condenser. A little higher and I'm sure it would have done some damage.

There are pictures of the final results here:

I used expanded steel painted black, I was going for something functional and inconspicuous. I've been told that it looks stock. After doing the grill I was able to get some expanded stainless steel so I re-did the grill using that. This time I took pics and attempted to document the whole procedure. I've sent the pics and some text to Aaron and I'm sure he'll have them up before long. Right now there are only shots of the final results as I've mentioned. If anyone is interested in the procedure and pics I can send the zip out directly. Aaron is a busy guy and I'm not sure how long it will be before he posts them. BTW - The final cost was about 25 bucks total.

I was able to get only enough expanded SS for 2 grill mods. I've sent one set to Aaron (because he's such a swell guy for hosting my info ) So he'll be able to add to the info . I've attempted to supply.
