Exclamation Gtech is fissling out?

Has this happened to anybody else? I did Gtech run with my MY2000 RS coupe (has stromung, pulley, IRS intake, etc.) and at about 50 mph it indicated a reading of 9.04 seconds 0-60. My car has never been that slow first of all, and second of all it seems that it gave me this reading way too soon. I am beginning to doubt the validity of this device. It has been in my glove box for about four months without being used, maybe the heat and jarring around got to itů I will have to try again later.

By the way, the ISR is a fabulous intake for our cars. It does not effect the bottom end, it reinforces our already good mid range, and it actually give us useable power up top.. Its very quiet, very much like a stock intake for those who don't want a loud intake noise (hey different strokes for different folks right!). The kit is ridiculously simple and goes together well except for the mounting bracket to hold the intake still.. its rather useless unless you get a grinder and a drill.. (I am doing that this weekend.) But other than that, the kit is well worth the money. They are also in the works for a new cold air setup that will use the existing ISR intake kit. It will be sold as an add on. Thanks for any feedback on anything posted.

Wink

Well Moo..

I would like to say that I have had more reference to give you. But I got all my ideas for buying the intake off this board. To me its just the best compromise. Low noise, good response all the way through your RPM band and easy installation. I think you will be happy with it. It may run rich on the top end but I have not noticed it. My top end is much stronger now with the intake (by top end I mean 5000+) I simply got tired of waiting for the Rallispec intake to hit the market. I do not regret the purchase at all..

hope that helps

Cool

For those on an extreme budget, or think $200 is a bit much for a filter..... My first mod was to get rid of the silencer box. Which is free! Some improvement but still sounded breathless. Then I got some flexible 3" air conditioning tubing from Home depot ($8) and attached it to the pipe that went into the silencer box, the other end went into the Fender of course for the cool air. Not much difference, still getting air from the snorkus bit. So off with that, and another bit of flexible tube, remove the blanking plate in the fender and stick that in there also.

Still felt breathless so I was getting itchy for my Amsoil delivery. Then it came... dropped it in. Wow...... I have never had such an improvement from an air filter before. The engine pulls strongly across the range and never feels like its struggling to breath. All for about $55. I didn't bother resetting the ECU. Seems fine.

Just my 2c. You can see pics on Larry's page at www.imprezars.com he did much the same thing, just different piping. Of course, if I had a spare $200 I would go for the ISR or Weapon R kit just because it looks nicer.... but I doubt it would give me any better performance than I have now.

So ISR has no website? I was just hoping for some sort of URL so I could look at this thing and maybe get the price...

By the way, I'd like to hear how your mileage does with the new intake...

I have the EXACT same problem. Mine always cuts out at around 50 mph and shows 0-60 at anything from 9.5s to 11s.
