lug nut size

I mounted my new wheels last night. I was told that the factory nuts would work, however they won't fit behind the center cap. Where can I get shorter thatn stock lug nuts.

you should try for open ended nuts, instead of the stock "capped" ones. i am assuming the nuts are covered (because you say they interfere), so aesthetics is not a problem.
make sure the nuts you get have the right base for the rim (conical, flat, etc.) this might be the real problem...
you can get the nuts from any car parts store.
