Here are a couple of Bolt-in's

I have seen the STI Cage in an 02 wrx from vancover it was a decent fit and the guy used it to road raceing.

Depending on the type of racing there is a good chance these cages will not pass tech...

For example from cars rule book

(f) Required Reinforcement
(i) Bends and joints:
Gussets or corner braces joining the front continuous tubing, whether front rollbar or
lateral rollbar, and the brace tubing are required. The gusset or brace shall span the
weld that joins the two tubes and may be positioned either in the roof quadrangle or in
the windshield area.

mig - there are places in the city that can fab one up, but will cost you $$$.

any reason for the cage? rally? drag? cosmetic?

any hardcore cage will result in you losing the back seat.

I would recommend the STI cage, but it will be pink =D There are a few places that offer a bolt in cage, but the legalities of some places (gimli dragstrip, wscc) might limit your options.

The car looked good at the WOW, i didn't have a chance to say hello as you were talking to a few people. I had the big blue subaru jacket on =D

first autocross is on sunday if you are interested. i hope to attend as well.

cheers

Default Cages

it is really important that you know WHAT you are going to be using the cage for, and taht you make sure it meets all of the requirements.
to help your eventual re-selling of teh car, you should also look to have a cage built that will meet the regulations of as many disciplines as you can. A rally cage, with a dash bar and nascar style door bars woudl be legal for WCMA racing (in fact a bit overbuilt)

Bolt in cages, by their very nature, don't fit well in the car. There are usually relative large caps to the shell and whil they will protect you, the body gets much less stiffening from them.

Custom building a cage is expensive when done right ... but you get a LOT from it.

Jackson Motorsports is probably the place to go in Winnipeg, and Guyons Performance Centres in Calgary is who I use here.

Check with the local competitors and see who they use...

By far the best is the Prodrive weld-in cage. Order it directly for a better price. Be prepared for a wiat though.

talk to john or marshall at jacksons, like morison said, he is the man to talk to as he has been building racecars and tuning them for many many years.

i believe the cusco cage is blue isn't it =D, aren't the sti cages pink and for the RHD models? i remember seeing one bolted up in an sti from BC.

do all these bolt on cages sacrifice the rear seat? i remember looking into a cage for the GC and came up w/ all losing the rear seat capabilities.

The STi cage for the new body fits better than the old one did for the first Gens. The back seats are completely useable w/ minor ingress difficulties. Both the first gen & 2nd gen Impreza STi bolt-in cages fit both drive sides. It is eqaul on both sides. The STi bolt-in for the Legacy is a different matter.
