What PSI are people running on stock blocks? just wondering, guess i have to run 7-8 now and i was hoppin for 5.

tip 1. no !!!???? in the subject line.

on to the topic......... Is it a stock WRX turbo?

if so then it should be just fine at 7-8 psi, as it doesn't push as much cfm as other turbo's at the same pressure levels.

gurus correct me if I'm wrong.

Tip #1 was well put... I've edited your thread title, please keep in mind there are rules here

Aphex is right. 7-8 is max, and something more likely then not will break. Main reasons:

1. Too much boost
2. Not enough octane

I ran 10.5... then my motor blew.. ha ha .. stoopid boost. Now I am fully built and ready to blow this one up too.

First off, WOW! didn't know the ? was so illegal in a topic line, and WOW you guys really know the rules here.

Kastle i don't get your post. you aggreed with Aphex and then said something different. or am i just reading it wrong?

I was agreeing with him and expanding on why only 7 - 8 psi is the max on a stock block.

I ran 12psi on my stock 99' block (tuned mind you), lasted for a while, the rods finally gave out on a rev in NEUTRAL of all times

edit, I ran that much because I had my spare motor in the garage, haha
