At the Track Truerace harness bar

My harness bar is in and is very much to my liking. Will fit any 2002+ Impreza.

Here are some pics of fitment and install. The upper mouting point shots show the plastic height adjustment pieces that must be removed. The bar is designed to go on the middle level height adjustment. The lower mounting points were very simple with just the stock spacer being removed and replaced with the heim joints. The bar is made from leightweight chromemoly steel (the same stuff the shop uses to completely fabricate their pro-mod dragsters). The harness loops will easily accomodate 3" belts, you can get custom loops made if you require 4".
The shop made a jig so additional bars can be made quickly. True Race Engineering will be offering an introductory sale on these for $300 for the first 12 sold. orders go to groupbuys@truerace.com

I can answer any questions and take more pics if you like. I chose to cut two small slits in the carpet to let it sit flatter, no other permanent mods were necessary. It took me about 30 minutes doing it myself with no instructions. These pics and more will be used by the shop to make good instructions for anyone who orders. I'll take more pics later this week when my Willians 5 point cmalock harness goes in.

this plastic piece needs to be removed but can be put back in whenever you remove the bar

you can see how it fits right in the stock upper and lower mount points

I don't know what you would want with the harnesses on, it doesn't look much different. I coudln't think of any other angles to shoot from, so here you go.
The belts are from my friends Group N prorally car.

bump, tI've run three autocross events with this bar setup and notice a big improvement in lateral stability over the last setup I had that mounted to the rear sealbelt locations.

Definitely worth the investment IMO.

The $300 price was a group buy price they were shooting for early in production. The final pricing for individual bars is $375, but we currently have them on sale for $329.99 until the end of the year. Full TIG welded chrome-moly steel, painted black. Other colors are extra.

The bars are manufactured just outside of Buffalo, NY.

As I look at the Cusco 7 point I think it may work, although I'm concerned about the 7th point interfering with the main bar of the harness bar. The bar for the 7th point slopes down as it crosses the width of the vehicle. It's hard to say without actually putting both pieces in a car and trying it. I'd be happy to work a deal out with you for both items.

Alternatively I could get a full chrome-moly bolt-in cage custom made for you with an integrated harness bar. If you're interested let me know and I'll get you a quote.

Actually I can definitely make this happen, but we'd need at least 5 people/pieces. If I could get one to you for 329.99 would you definitely be interested? I smell a group buy coming on

how much is shipping and whats the rough time frame?

a local shop is going to replicate the sparco bars and sell them for 300. But they are starting this out for the 02+ ~then~ the older ones.

lmk, i'm interested but will need a little time to save.

whats the estimated time frame? i know i can pay in full in about a month (car payments and insruance payment coming up)

They would be 349 shipped and I would need 5 non-refundable deposits of 50% or more to develop this application. I'm going to ask some local customers if we can get their GC8 in the shop to see what differences there would be between the new age WRX/STi bar and one for the GC8's. If it isn't very different I could have them ready rather quickly.

Mike,
Thnks for the response - I wish I had seen the post a month ago: I bought & installed the 7pt Cusco roll cage and now I'm looking into adding a harness bar but wih the cage installed I don't know if any of the bars will fit. If you ever get fitment info with Cusco cages and you confirm they do fit , then I think there are alot of WRX owners that have the cage and may also be looking for a harness bar that fits.

I'll see if I get some measurements posted to locate the b-pillar vertical bar

No problem. I try to stay on top of the forums, but catching review threads on all our products is almost impossible. Let me know what you come up with for measurements.

Our 8 point custom bolt-in cages in full TIG welded chrome-moly with integrated harness bar cost about the same as the 7 point Cusco cage alone. For this reason I don't know of any locals running the Cusco cage. You never know though...if I run into a customer with a Cusco 7 point cage I'll have a look too.

That shouldn't be a problem, but we'll certainly check it out.
