Smile Will these rims fit my car?

My Dad has rims off of his old cars that he said I can have. One set is off of a 98 Beetle, 18". The other is off of a 96 VR6 GTI, 17". I have a 98 RS by the way. I know the offset is different, but was wondering if either would work.
Thanks ahead of time.

I assume you know the offset is supposed to be around 47 to 53 (though 40 does work with the right tire and stock suspension). In case you can't contact the wheel mfgrs, try this. Try to find out the offset for those other cars. I would suggest checking www.tsw.com and seeing if they list the same PCD, offset and such for wheels that are supposed to work with those cars. Kind of a game of match up. If TSW lists the PCD, offset, and hub diameter for a set of wheels that match the VW, check to see if they list that same wheel (AND SPECS) for the RS. It's not a garruntee but at least it will give you an idea if it will work without physically doing the swap (for which my guess is, that you would need different lug nuts, and hubcentric rings). I did the same thing for my 17" Alpines of my Dodge Shadow. Also it would be a wise thing to check with the mfgr of the wheels. They would know best.
