Default New to area. What are good shops?

I am going to be attending Bentley College in Waltham Mass. (right outside of Boston) starting in the fall. I live in Virginia Beach now, and know who to go to, and who not to, and where the nasioc get togethers are, etc. I was just wondering if anyone from this area know of good shops/tuners, or if there is a decent WRX/Subaru following. Any info on the WRX scene in and around Boston would be great.

Thanks,
Ben

For installs and tuning TheMadScientist is great, reasonable too. He's just a guy here on the board, he works from his driveway. I'm sure you can find only happy customers of his here, I'm one of them. What are you looking to install anyway?
As for the get-togethers there are plenty, depends how far you want to travel.

I am just refering to general upgrades I would make as time progresses. Its good to hear that I won't miss the Subaru action much at all. Beleive me, it is a big Subaru area down here. In our area's car get togethers, there are more WRXs and STis than there are hondas or acuras. We have become the new Honda!

New England is Subaru Country, my friend. We got folk here who have been driving nothing but Subarus and followed their performance progression for over twenty years due to their AWD superiority.

For me and my family (OK, mostly me) the WRX is simply the perfect progression for my need for an all-weather vehicle and my need for speed and performance and, ok, fun! Im sure there are a lot of people just like me here on the board and through New England. As many events as you could possibly want.

BTW - Bentley is a good school. I have a bunch of friends who attended, but make sure to get to Boston enough. I know some people who only got to Boston from there like 5 times over four years. Hell, I have a person working for me who went to BC and only got to Boston ONCE his freshman year!

One more piece of advice - if you don't know how to drive in the snow, suck it up and ask a native New Englander - there really are little tricks and defintely limits which should not be pushed.

Sounds good. Yeah, I plan on going downtown as much as possible. THe roads there suck, but it will be fun nonetheless. Its good to hear others speak positive about Bentley. Thanks.

does KTR do installations of up pipes/downpipes? if so i'd be willing to travel to Ayer for the service if it didn't cost an arm and a leg. =)
