Question Question about Larry's or Similar intakes and vent cover

Since Larry's and other intakes are drawing air from inside the fender well, would removing the right hood vent blocking plate allow more hot air to escape, causing less heat transfer to the intake pipe which would cause a denser charge of air into the engine? Just a hypothetical question. What do you think? Would it even be a noticable difference?

Besides, then I'd be able to look through the vent and see my shiny intake pipe!

Possibly.

Honestly, yeah if your intake is not sucking from around that area, and you open up that vent, you're going to get a little cooler air under the hood in general. Will it help with heat-soak? Depends what the intake tube is made of and even then, not sure.

Well, the tube material is made from aluminum. After I've been driving for a while and i pop my hood, the intake tube is cool to the touch near the fender, but depending on what type of driving I just did (city/highway), the other end of the tube is a bit warmer. Also, if I'm driving through stop-and-go traffic, the tube is definetly warmer due to less air-flow.

I guess the only way for me to find out is for me to try it myself.

It can't really hurt anything - the vent does exactly on ou r car what it does on any similarly-equipped Impreza - lets heat out. Especially safe if you're drawing air through the fender.
