Default best battery relocating kit???

Hey guys,

I was looking for a good battery relocating kit for my WRX, Summit racing has a few of them but they never really get into deatail as to which is the best one available. what kits have you guys used that has actually worked well for you guys and that is semi decent looking???

when you do it, make sure you use a sealed box, that is vented to the out side of the car. or use one of the optima ones. you dont want the vapors going into the passenger compartment.

can somebody PM me or post the link to relocating the batter to the trunk mod for GC8(RS) or whatever works. Or just tell me how to do it. I'd like to see pics if possible. Thx, -B

Hmmm.. I'm just adding a 2nd battery to the trunk, I picked an Optima Red Top (Spiral Cell) sealed, and it still says that risk of spilling, acid burns, and risk of explosion on the warning tag? Is this just incase it leaks due to defect?

The Optima and the Hawker Odyssey are two different types of batteries.

The Odyssey is an absorbed electrolite, 'dry cell' type battery that won't (according to the mfg.) leak acid even if torn open and it can be mounted in any orientation except upside down.
I would NOT install an Optima battery in the passenger compartement at all, or elsewhere in the car aft of the firewall, without a proper case and vent.

Ahhh so for both of us we should be looking for this 'dry cell' type?
