Default Advise on Cold Air Intakes

I have a MY00 2.5RS and I am thinking of replacing my stock air intake with an after market one. Please advise if the change will improve the performance of the car, and if so, which is the best intake and is it available in Vancouver.

Thanks.

An Intake will offer very little performance gain and the difference between one that offers more gain as opposed to less is a lot of money. Case in point, COBB vs Ganzflow, or PDM intake. The Cobb is about 300+ CAD dollars, where as PDM sneaks in at just over $100....plus you should get a K&N filter along with it. However the difference in max HP gains will only be a couple of HP. Unless you don't mind spending a lot of money I would get a ganzflow or PDM or even better, build your own. These intakes just have a tube that goes directly off your intake box and into the fender where it collects colder air. It eliminates all the black tubing and makes for better airflow.

Thanks for the information.

Is there any thing I need to worry about when intalling a PDM intake, or is it just an easy bolt on installtion.

though if u can find a used cai (cobb) that would be best

cobb>ganzflow (pdm) in performance
but ganzflow > cobb in value

check private clasified and search cobb - i saw one a cpl days ago.

the intake install is super easy...a few sockets & 20 minutes at most.
