Hey 'erybody

I wanted to make a first post to introduce myself to the Baja forum. I recently purchased a 2003 Silver Baja...like it alot...only put about 600 miles on it so far. I do plan on doing some modifications down the road...nothing to extreme tho.

I have basic knowledge on modifying cars and would like to think I have good taste. Knowing that other scoobies with the 2.5 have potential performance wise i'm excited to get some stuff going on this mighty baja.

I'm from Southern New Hampshire...I'll probably check out the local forums too at some point..

20k trouble free miles on my wifes baja, 50k nearly trouble free miles on my WRX.

Is yours an auto or a 5-speed? The 5-speed is pretty peppy, the auto I drove was a SLUG.

My auto is extremly peppy. Just as peppy as the 5-speed that I drove. At least in the sport shift mode.

I think he meant on a regular baja, not a turbo. If he was asking about mine, its a 5-speed.

I was lucky enough to find a used 2003 baja with 12k in Manual AND Silver Mono tone...

Its not super peppy...but its ok for a 3500 lb vehicle..

I'm jealous of you turbo guys...

After 36K (and my wedding) I'll look into an aftermarket turbo like "justlikethat"

Yeah, I drove the NA auto and it really was a bit of a slug. The 5MT made for a good driver, but the turbo sealed the deal. Now I'm just waiting for SOA to pull their collective heads out of their a**es!

Well, they can't give the dealer an answer as far as when my Turbo will be in. The closest we've heard is late Mar/early April. No word on a VIN, build date, or delivery date, though. This has been a routine problem with them so far. The dealer had a white/silver turbo due in back in early Dec, which showed up a month late! It's just funny how they have no way of tracking their cars. I'm hell-bent on waiting for the turbo I ordered since I want the exact color and options I'd picked, not to mention I don't want one that's been test-driven to death by who knows how many people. The plans for mods aren't immediate, but later in its life, I'm going to run a set of Borla headers, new up pipe, 3" turbo-back exhaust, engine management, shorty intake, lifted coils, and I'd like to install a DVD system for road trips. Plus, the usual, 17" wheels, tires, tint, etc.

Got my 2003 Baja in December of 03.
I had to drive 8 hours to get it, as the local dealer only had the sport model. I have only driven it 3,000 miles, so I can't say anything about the car, other than it's great. I don't have the turbo model, but with the right driving, this car goes like stink. LOL
