Eaton showed a simple electronic limited-slip differential that uses a motor to rotate a ball ramp. This applies pressure to a clutch pack, generating between 0 and 100 percent lockup. Quick response time (0.02 millisecond) means it can be integrated into ABS, traction-control, and stability-enhancement systems. It is very compact and so lends itself to front, center, or rear differential locations.
