Default Factory XT boost gauge on the right or left?

I had the dealer install the factory boost gauge on the XT yesterday and they installed it on the right side of the steering column. Is this correct? It seems that the left side is the more logical side since on the left it would block the bottom of the fuel and temp gauges but on the right it blocks the check engine light, AT tranny temp light, etc. Did the dealer mess up?

Mine was installed on the left. I believe the instructions also have it installed on the left.

The Impreza directions are for the right side, there was a reason the Forester went to the left, I forget why now but it's supposed to be on the left according to the directions:

Called the dealer and the Forester gauge does go on the left, if you install it on the right it blocks the warning lights which is a big no-no. So the guy who installed it goofed.

The dealer ordered a new steering column cover since mine now has a hole in it, when it comes in they will be swapping it and correctly installing it on the left.

Many thanks!!

Hey for those of you with the cats removed this may be a quick fix, install turbo gauge on right and no more CEL!
