know you don't stock em, but what's the price on the single port borla headers (2.2L)? i should be purchasing a headersback exhaust here shortly and it's coming w/ the dual port which won't work.

I'll be in touch brad... can you confirm that a 96 2.2L should be Single port? (I'm almost positive the 96's were the first year w/ single port)

I'll give ya the part number if you want.

it was the 96+ 2.2 liter models that had single ports. that was applicable to the coupes sedans and wagons, iirc most fo the 2.2l obs'd I've seen had the single port heads.

I'm the borla King!

seriously though, borla told us the price of stainless was going up. Prices went up just last month as well by about 5% and now another 7%

personaly I just feel as though everybody should be able to get a great deal on Quality USDM parts.

edit:
Leo, whats got you thinking about the exhaust decesion? and which downpipe are you using?

I have a Godspeed downpipe but could move to a Nvidia.

I'm thinking about the flow. I have a Carbon Ti. Was thinking about the hush-back but if the flow restriction of the muffler is too much, I just might as well stay with my system.

leo,

the hush system is designed to be a straight through system, with very minimal restriction. borla mufflers, espcially the newer ones are designed and known for their free flowing characteristics. this isn't a chambered muffler by any means.

its hard to see the internals but you can see how its straight on the inside with serated piping exposed to the packing versus a cambered system. where it splits into two is a collector type split not a wall like you would find in a chambered muffler.

the restriction of note you might find is on the end of the exhaust where it mates to the downpipe.

its designed to mate up to the factory donut gasket. luckily this peice is put on with a slip joint. it would be easy to take it to a muffler shop and have them weld on a 2 bolt 3 inch flange if it would make it easier to mate to your downpipe.

however, its probably not necessary. some people say that 3inch untapered is the way to go. but honestly, unless you're cranking out some serious numbers, most street cars won't have a noticable difference with this minor restriction in the way.

borla has a strict policy on selling components used in their catback systems. they will only sell it seperatly if yours was damaged and they are pretty pricey.

they have a comperable one though but hte dimensions are a bit different. its 19x4x9 turbo muffler with a 3 inch inlet and 2 1/4 dual outlets. the tips are seperate.

and let me know if there are any more question I can answer for you guys about borla products

I have a custom TBE with the muffler located on the bottom of the car because the exhaust exits out the middle of the rear bumper. So I need a muffler alone without tips. Do you have any muffler products that's as quiet as the hush or quieter but has the same flow characteristics.

its very similar in terms of the inner structure and sound dampening... just different dimensions. it would be 220 shipped

Is the "in" and "out" openings 3". Do you know of a site where I can find a sound clip?

the inlet is 3 inch and it has dual 2 1/4 inch outlets.

I'm not sure where you would find a sound clip of that specific muffler but borla said it would be very comperable to the muffler used int he hush system.

thanks
