Adam Bloom has one.

other than that it would depend.

The motor is great, but the labor will cost. And turbo kits are coming out from ASR and Redline Engineering (Turbo, at Rallispec) that are competitively priced with good support.

Heck AMR Car Modifications says they'll get a CARB-approved kit setup...maybe even a twinturbo. We'll see.

Anyone can get a STi motor from Japan. The motor itself is $7810 and then another like $480 for the ECU. Add $200 for packging and another $200 for it's ride over here on the slow boat.

It's better to find a used one, but that gets real fun. I have had someone on it since May and they still haven't turned one up that was un-modded.

Good luck.

yeah that sounds about right
this engine was a little bit more
plus we had to pay for the wiring harness,
intercooler and all the other little sensors.

but i dunno i'm just checking the waters,
i don't mind shipping them but somebody has to buy the stupid things..
so if it was 8 - 9 for sale would anybody be even slightly interested?

I think one other thing you have to consider also is that you cannot just buy the engine and expect it to bolt up to your transmission, you are going to need a WRX transmission and a rear end also to match all the gearing.

Gino, make sure these aren't Hong Kong replicas. These people might actually want to recieve their engines and not a refund three months later. Sorry, a little "wish I had a V5 wing" frustration.

Ummm....All the TLC in the world isn't going to help the fact that you need to swap transmissions.

Care to clarify?

Including the Front crossmember and the Front sway bar? IIRC you will need these if it uses the WRX exhaust manifold adn turbo setup.

nope, sorry just the motor ecu harness etc.

getting it into your car is something your going to have to deal with there are different ways of doing it that i'm sure you are all familiar with

bottem line we have access to a brand new straight from dealer motor with ecu that you are welcome to buy.
i don't want to tell them to bring one over if its not going to sell

i'm sure we can order you a crossmember and whatever else you want also, but thats up to you..

the rs tranny will fit, true the ratios are different but that doesn't make it an impossible transfer that just means different ratios.
i don't think we have any transmissions off hand but i guess if we did(a big IF) actually start shipping over the motors we could also order transmissions

remember at the begging of this i said i wanted to see if people would be interested i didn't say i was selling anything.

since people seem simi interested in this i guess i'll see about putting one on the next container. and i'll see how it goes..

nope its direct from the dealer guarenteed

there is no middle man on this one its just me and our shipping guys that live in japan

and the motor does bolt up to the us tranny
it just takes some TLC... hehe

i'm not sure about the clutch and pressure plate since the push/pull thing is backwards..
but thats up to the buyer
