Question auto to manual transmittion swap

ok well right now i have a 99' 2.5 impreza AUTO and i love the car i just would like to convert it over to manual and im not sure where to start so if anyone can help me out leave one or u can contact me (aim) soob102 also, if someone has a whole setup please let me know thx.

You will have install pedals. Since this would be using hydralic clutch that will help. Transmission mounts will have to be replaced. And the big kicker which may or may not be a big thing is the crank may not finished to accept the pilot bearing. If not it will have to milled to accept one.

Pilot bearing sits in the flywheel, not the crankshaft. Flywheel bolts to the crankshaft.

I'm converting my SVX to a manual trans.

Post 6 speed transmission

since i do not have a STI motor but i have an 2.5 engine could i run a 6speed transmission and would it even be benefical? if so, which transmission would i need to be looking for?

Are you turboing the 2.5L or anything?

Or do you plan on getting a WRX or STi motor one day?

Then yes, I would go for a 6 speed. It would be worth your time you are already putting into the project.
