I got the guage bezel from www.custombezels.com They don't have real carbon fiber, just vinyl.
As for the interior, i did it all myself and it was a PITA. I bought vinyl fabric from a fabric store near where i live in the colors i wanted and tried to get as many yards as i need for each door and dash seperately. It's tuff using working one piece around the door panels. Anyway, spray craft glue and auto trim glue weren't strong enough to hold the vinyl down in creases and curves so i used hot glue. The hot glue held very well and i could smooth it out really well while it was hot. the whole problem with the spray glues is the vinyl i used had that white sort of padded backing on it so the spray glues wouldn't penetrate and the vinyl wanted to separate from the padding. Vinyl without the padding is at least twice as much per yard, and i needed the padding to keep from having bumps show up from the old surface. On the hard plastic near the door handle i soaked the fabric in water and separated the padding, that seemed to work great. Make sure and scuff up anything you are about to glue with coarse sandpaper or it won't stick. If i did it again i would try out 3m super trim adhesive but the hot glue did the trick. I cut one or two things too far when making a turn with the fabric so you can see the cuts when installed on the defrost vent. Other than that, there are some bumps as you can see from where i screwed up with the glue, but for the money i spent, it was worth it. Took about 3 weeks after work in my living room to finish everything. still need seatbelts and carpet, getting rs seats next weekend. Don't forget about the door handles, headliner and all the a and b pillars. Use that new Krylon plastic spray paint and make sure to sand lightly and wipe all plastic off with terpentine before painting. The headliner and ac vents i used vinyl and trim paint from pepboys. ONLY USE THIS ON THE HEADLINER! This stuff peels bad on hard surfaces. Where my apillar meets my headliner is starting to peel back so i will have to redo that. I still don't know what to do about my visors? I guess i'll get some grey ones or something from another car. I'll post a pick of my guages at night next. here are my guages,
The camera made them look wierd in this one.. sorry about the pic quality, you can't even see the hot spots in real life and the ac controls are brighter than that. |
