What are the spring rates for the STi ver.7 wagon springs? Will they fit a 02 wagon? Will stock struts work or do you recomend other struts? How much of a drop if any? How many miles on these springs? Thanks.

WRXNE1: The pink STi lateral links are not on sale, but I do have more coming in within 2 weeks. Those usuall do not hit the shelf, selling even before they arrive. We've been doubling up each order on those for the past 6 months, and we still haven't been able to build inventory on them!

odzilla: The spring rates on these are 217fr/190rr. They are 02/03 fitment only, so yes, including your car. These can be used on the stock struts, although the rates are a bit higher than the strut is valved for. If you have a good feel for suspension, this setup may feel a bit underdampened. I would suggest using the Ver.7 struts along with these springs, as they are valved correctly and the inverted strut design will ensure a long trouble free life. These springs are brand new. In fact, with rare exception to the Prodrive takeoff suspensions, everything we sell is brand new.

wistful: You've got email!

Is there a part code for the lateral links that would show they expressly fit the STi or is it just for the WRX (and hence can be fit to the STi)?

We usually stock the proper lateral links for the 04 STi, of which there are more coming within two weeks.

The 6 piece lateral link set for the WRX sedan can be used, but the swaybar mounting points are slightly relocated. This necessitates the use of a swaybar (complete with mounts) from the standard WRX. The nice part about doing this conversion is that the 6 piece lateral link set has spherical bearings in all four ends, whereas the 4 piece kit for the 04 STi replaces one of the spherical bearings with a Gp.N spec bushing one each side. IMO, it isn't worth the cost to do this conversion.

FYI, there are 4 different lateral link kits. There's a 6 piece kit which fits the GC/GF/GG & BD/BG & SF, and there's also a 4 piece kit which fits those cars as well. There is another 6 piece kit which only fits the GD 02+ WRX sedan. Finally, there is the 4 piece kit for the GDF 04 STi.

Hope that helps!

Greg,
what STi lateral kit will work w/ the OEM rear sway bar for a 04 WRX Wagon... will the 6pc or 4pc suffice?

Midwestrider: There's a 4 piece kit that's in stock which will fit your application. Unless your car has pillowball strut tops and very rigid tire sidewalls, I doubt the difference can be felt between the 4 and 6 piece kits. Although the STi swaybar droplinks in the 6pc kit are nice, zero bind with awesome articulation, a good buy if you don't have aftermarket droplinks.

I don't have aftermarket droplinks..

I plan to order the trailing arms along w/ the lateral kit once I figure out which I will go with.

If the 6 piece kit will replace them and all me to use the OEM bar or move into a OEM 20mm rear bar that is what I will opt for.

Gruven: The Ver.8 Spec.C springs will fit your 02/03 if you use the 04 rear strut tops. When changing the springs, it's an ideal time to upgrade the strut top mounts anyway. You can simply order the 04 STi hardened strut top mounts with the Ver.8 Spec.C springs for a complete bolt-in setup. There wouldn't much of a drop with these springs, 1/4" if at all.

guzzettaman: The titanium strut brace bolts in with one issue. There is a small bracket that holds the A/C line to the firewall. By unbolting the bracket, it can swivel out of the way. The A/C line is still very solid without that bracket.

Midwestrider: Yes, the 6 piece kit will let you use any rear swaybar designed for your car, STi or aftermarket.

Front tophats are same design on 02 wrx and sti only the rear spring design has changed between 04's and '02s therefore the 02's need the 04s rear tophats if you want to run the 04 spring...whew

Does the carbon fiber strut brace have the same issue?

To elaborate, all the modern Subaru's use the same front strut top mount. There are four different rear strut top mounts for the various rear suspension setups.

jsemmler: I cannot remember if the carbon fiber strut tower bar rubs the A/C bracket.

Would you happen to have a right hand rear v7 STi strut laying around? That is the only one I need to put my set on the car (replacing a bent one).

Thanks.
