Default AWD gas tank question

My first question is here.

My second question is also about the gas tank. Does the AWD gas tank have a seperate pump on the opposite side to pump it to the side with the main pump? Just wondering what some people did for their AWD swap.

Brent

Hi Brent. No pump as it is normally thought of. The return line runs the extra fuel from the fuel pressure regulator through a device called a jet pump. This is a siphoning device that works using the Bernulli (sp) principle to "suck" over the gas from the driver side to the sump side. I never have installed this piece in my tank from a 1999 conversion and it still works well. Except I can get only 10 gallons of gas out of the tank and the fuel level sender is lop-sided. The gauge reads full for 150 miles then goes to empty within the next 50 miles. To get the gas over, I run a couple of 1g left hand turns. Gotta fix that someday.

Hope this explains it to you.

Haha, I can handle that!

So I'll be okay to not have it plugged in? I just ran the line that comes out of it to one of lines on top of the tank.

It works with the limitations mentioned above.
