Default Fuel injector swap faq/guide/pictures/tutorial?

Does any such thing exist on the internet?

I need a play by play, the service manual shows a million steps and i've been told numerous times it can be done without taking the intake manifold off

Please point me in the right direction, i'm ordering UR600cc injectors today

That's what I used.

I'm in the middle of a stage 4 upgrade myself using UR600 injectors.

I also removed the airbox, washer tank and unbolted the metal coolant tank.
Buy a set of gear box wrenches (12 mm needed) to get the GBOD off.

I had some problems installing the UR600s. UR says *not* to reuse the stock injector o-ring and the two gaskets on their injectors. I found that I needed to use the lower injector rubber gasket otherwise the URs would wiggle in the socket when bolted down (by the fuel rail) and thus would leak.
If you do a search, you might find conflicting evidence. Some people reuse them, some don't. In any case, make sure they're tight - they can still rotate in the socket, but they shouldn't wiggle.

Please take my experience with a grain of salt as I have not tested my injector install for leaks yet. I'll follow up once I've completed the stg4 install.

there's also something that was posted by kastle over on scooby mods.. I'm to lazy to find it again but its there and pretty good if I remember right.

In the end it's not difficult just very time consuming and frustrating when you can't get a wrench on the bolt quite right.

It is straight forward. I also put the bracket of death back on, but left off the one bolt that's a PITA to get at.

Not to scare anyone, but one of the bolts that holds down the fuel rail to the intake manifold cross threaded on me. There was ZERO indication it was crossed as I turned it in. Only when I got to the bottom and it wouldn't cinch the fuel rail down tight that I noticed the problem. I had to drill out the threads and tap for a stainless coil thread insert. Very unnerving when you have 50 some payments left on the car.

Be careful out there...

Whoops, forgot to follow up on this thread

Stage 4 install was finally completed a few days ago.

The UR600 injectors sealed perfectly with the stock lower rubber injector gasket. No fuel or boost leaks as far as I can tell (car can easily hold 18 psi boost till redline - wastegate duty cycle time looks normal).

The UR600s are a good match for the Ion Stage 3 OE turbo - 17.5 psi, 10.8:1 AFR at redline nets high 80s IDCs. Haven't finished tuning it yet.

I left the GBOD off. Dremel'ed off the oil breather part.

Either that or a longer piece of hose for the breather if you dont have a dremel.

Yup, a little rotation is all they should have for movement.
