Found an Xbox tonight, version 1.0 Going to fix :)Any gurus here?

OK so I plugged it in, it gives "needs service" message on screen, makes a LOT of noise, ring around eject button flashes red

I tear it apart, the GPU fan has self destructed, so I am assuming GPU is burnt. I do some googling, I find that the red flashing says bad eprom. So I am thinking a new 1.0 MB and its good to go

Anyone here know anything about working on these? looks like a mb/hd combo on ebay is about 60 bucks. I will try to get it cheaper, looks like 40 should be doable. I was thinking try to find a pre-modded version 1.0 mb, with a bigger HD. Any sources for a pre modded MB?
