Thumbs down Wendys: Why are they still in business?

CandyO's thread reminded me of a really bad experience which is consistent in my dealings with Wendy's.

After waiting 14 minutes in a line 2 customers deep, I finally got to place my order. spicy chicken combo. After 7 minutes of waiting, here is what I get.

non-spicy chicken sandwich with mayo.

Since they were out of soda cup tops, they gave me a soup cup top (which has no hole for the straw)

The root beer tasted like they screwed up their syrup/carbonation ratio in the fountains (waaay watered down)

The french fries seemed like they were cooked last week, and their heating light must have broke.

oh, and the BBQ sauce packet was 20 cents extra since they run out of them quickly

I usually only hit Wendy's when absolutely nothing else is open. I haven't visited that particular location since.

i had nearly the exact same experience last week!! right down to the chili lids on the soda (which, btw, didn't fit very well)

the wendy's near me is hit-or-miss at best. some days the fries are fresh and perfectly salted, other days you wind up with the crap described above.. oh well, i used to like wendy's...

I've never had probs with Wendy's, its pretty much the only fast food I eat. Their meat is a higher quality than pretty much any other fast food...if you must eat fast food.

Wendy's by me is top notch. Either a big bacon classic with a chili or a spicy chicken and a chili. Always tastes great...in fact I would argue that thier spicy chick en sandwich is probably better than any sit-down restaurants chicken sandwich I have ever had.

All fast food restaurants rock in North Carolina. I couldn't believe the 60 seconds or its free deal at McD's a few years back. They actually rushed the order, and said thanks!

in my experience, MD fast food restaurants will NEVER say thanks (unless you go to chick-fil-a)

Wendy's around here is the best fast food there is. I dont go near the fries though as they usually soggy and disgusting.

I like Wendy's. What you're describing sounds like management issues.

No complaints about the Wendy's out here either. Look for a number in there to call and complain to get the problem fixed.

Sounds like a poor managment problem OR a real picky customer.

The Wendy's in my area is very good. It's no Carls Jr or In n Out Burger put it's good nontheless.

They have the best chocolate frosty too.

What the heck is Carl's Jr.? I saw them all over the Las Vegas area. Their restaurant exterior looks exactly like Hardees/Roy Rogers. I didn't stop there though. I wonder if they are related.

I had Wendy's once a few years back. Got sick from the burger. Spent a week puking my guts out. It was on vacation.

Uh... no it doesn't not in the slightest my freind. The only thing that's the same is the Star.

When i was stationed in KY and NC you couldn't pay me to get Hardees. It was plain nasty on a few occasions and at different locations (i didn't want to admit they were different than Carls so i gave them a few chances).

The bread was old and flaky, the meat uncooked and oily etc.

Carls = Quality. The Angus Six Dollar Burger > ALL fastfood burgers

They are owned by the same company, and I guess they are slowly integrating Carl's Jr. food into the Hardees places.

I agree though, I tried Hardees out there on the eastern part of the states somewhere and it didn't compare at the time. It was seriously asslicious.
