A sway bar is a sway bar, I wish that I had gotten mine for that price. The reason it's so cheap is because all it is (and all it needs to be) is a rigid peice of metal. Jump all over it.

Better do a "Search" before the hall monitors
see you! FWIW if it is a Subaru 18mm I
think you can get one via your dealership.
It might be a factory bar for a the Outback
or Forrester or something...gotta go here they come! hee hee hee

Question

Do you really think that Subaru 18mm sway bar is from an Outback or Forester? Because if that's the case, there's a local salvage yard that has a ton of these cars which I could theoretically take a sway bar off of for cheap!

Can anyone verify this?

It's almost positively the same Fugi Heavy Industries peice that is being sold by SPD tuning and a lot of other places. You won't find this part in the litigation happy USA whereonly understeering vehicles are allowed on the streets.

Yes, the 18mm bars are the same as on the Forester (Legacy bars are wider).

If you can get one at a local J-yard, do it. Then, when you upgrade your suspension get the 20mm...

Cool

I don't know if my Forester L bar is a 13 or 15mm, but it sure is not an 18mm. I have my old 18mm rear bar from my 99 RS and it is way bigger than the stock Forester bar. I'm thinking about putting the 18mm on the Forester to get rid of some of that sloppy body roll.

Talking

Hey cool! Wow, even Subie Gal responded! I feel so honored (J/K)! That's good. I figured it was as good as everything else out there, just thought I would see if anyone actually had one on their Scooby. Looks like that will be next after my Kartboy short shifter comes in!

Question Subaru 18mm rear sway bar at Teague's - good quality??

I was looking through Teague's site (again!) and I noticed that they have a genuine Subaru 18mm rear sway bar for $118.00. Does anyone have this? Is it any good? Dale, maybe you can answer this one. I am looking for an inexpensive 18mm sway bar and this one might fit the bill. Any thoughts???

Thumbs up

To be honest I don't think Dale would sell anything if he thought it wasn't good quality. I've gotten many things from him and so far nothing has dissapointed me. He has a good reputation and I'm sure he wants to keep it that way

Question

Herbie, do you know what model/year Foresters have an 18mm bar? And how sure are you of this?
