Does anyone know of aftermarket Aluminium RS hoods? I searched but the only found CF RS hoods and Aluminum ones for old school and bugeye's. I don't want to get a WRX one for two reasons. First is the price of OEM and the second is that I just don't what a scoop. Anyone know where I can get one?
I was going to post in the Exterior/Interior forum but I think I would get more information from other RS owners. I hope my assumption is correct.

I don't see why there would be one. Most people choose to go CF and just paint them. Price would be similar...and allow a slightly lighter hood option with CF. Paint it if you don't want that color.
Only reason there was one available for the older RS's was the fact that the earlier body style WRX's had an aluminum counterpart we could order...and both had scoops. There never was an aluminum without a hood scoop, as far as I know for the older body style. |

You could possibly try purchashing an 06' 2.5i aluminum hood. Dunno how much that would cost though . . .

Used WRX hood is the best way to go, man. Buy one from someone who's buying CF or something.
If you don't like the scoop, someone's bound to make a different type. Maybe you could find a WRC-style scoop or something, or an aluminum "blank" so to speak. =S2= |

I was trying to look as stock as possible and save weight. Don't really want to go CF because I heard it was heavier than the Aluminium ones on the WRX because of reinforcments. I want to use the stock latch instead of hood pins to keep the stock look. I know it is possible to use the latch for the CF but it is not the best idea. I don't want any type of scoop on my hood, I guess its just my personal preference. It's down to the CF RS hood for me if anything.
Thank you for all the input. |

just get a wrx hood and i guess you could try and shave the hole if you really wanted to but reverse scoop seems like a good idea.

Go trade with a FMIC WRX/STi owner and either get a reverse cowl or live with the scoop. |

i have a seibon c/f with sti scoop and its wayyy light. i think less than 25 lbs. vs the 75 lb or so stock hood. im with you on the scoop action i wish they had no scoop but its not gunna happen buddy i looked and i looked but to no avail...
![]() OOOH OOHH i just thought of this....the scoop on my hood DOES come off and it leaves a sqaure hole, but i bet something can cover that up or a custom sqaure piece of c/f can replace it hmm.... |
