2013 STI's

Just got done talking to Continental Subaru about my order and as it turns out it will take 90 days to be delivered. I ordered 8/18/12 and I'm looking at a delivery date of "sometime in November." But it will be the the first "real" 2013 that was ordered and not a rebagded 2012. I'm sad I sold my truck so early because I'm now stuck driving a nappy crystler sebring that a friend is letting me use. So if anyone else has ordered one you have a while to wait.

I wonder if the Guru's get theirs on the same day they order them?

Like they are 2012 cars sold as 2013 cars. The dealership told me they took 2013 orders as of 8/15/12 and with mine arriving in November I don't see how true 2013's are already comin in if the first 2013's are coming in November.

It will be interesting to see how fast they come in. Alex was telling me Chano's 2011 WRX order came in 3 weeks, but have seem some take as long as 5 months.

I have a friend who ordered a sti in feb and it came in march but it was mid production year. When I talked to the dealer they said they have 4 STI's on order and mine will be the first delivered or delivered with one other. The last 2 will be sent in December.
It bay be possible the ones coming in soon are 2013's if they are the first produced with no special add on's. Idk but it sucks waiting.

Who cares who gets the first one. Doesn't matter much. Its not like the first STi in Alaska like it was in 03. Although I am excited and happy for you that you got a STi. Cant wait to see it at meets and hopefully some auto-Xs. Congrats.

They start selling cars a few months before the year actually starts. 2012 cars start getting released around September/October 2011, and so on and so fourth. It doesn't mean that they get released in that physical year.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I realize 2013 cars come at the end of the year prior. What I was saying is I think it is odd some 2013's will be delivered before ones that were ordered when they first offered to take orders.

Yeah, whole order system is cray. In July of 2010 I ordered my 2011 WRX and was the only one that ordered one, so when it arrived August 24th of 2010 it was the only one until the STI showed up 3 weeks later.

The following year the tsunami in Japan hit, so WRX/STI didn't show up until mid-November to early December.

So only 2013 WRX have been at Conti recently, no STI? Very interesting...

From what I gathered, when you order a Subaru they don't 'build' it for you. They have a set production of certain trims/colors and when one is being made close to the specs you asked for they basically allocate it to the order you put in and the rest of the options are added at the port.

He speaks truth. That's how Alex/Furtive got his BRZ so soon. Someone backed out of their's in the Lower 48, so they threw it up on the transfer to Alaska to fill his order sooner.

I think the blue white and black are very nice. I'm not to attracted to the red but you don't see to many of them

Crystal Black Silica is nice. It's been available on the 2010+ Legacy/Outback. Also, Lightning Red isn't available for MY2013 anymore. Subaru's color palette is looking fairly bland at the moment.
