Question Your advise on the best adj. coilovers and where to get them

OK, I just graduated from college, and now that I have the money I want to get a set of adjustable coilovers. What is the best set for under $800-$1000. KYB AGX? Any info on the best set and where to get the best price would be great! TIA

AGX struts are not coilovers. Coilovers are like TEINs....

Well I don't know a thing about coilovers (ok I know what they are, but I've never owned a set!), but KYB/AGX's are adjustable struts, not coilovers. You have the ability to adjust the damper & the rebound on the strut. With a coilover (I believe) you can adjust ride height, damper and rebound.

I believe Tein & Leda are the two most popular types of coilovers,

What about KYB AGX with ground controls??? doesn't that give the height adjustment that most people want when considering coil-overs albeit at considerable savings (like half as much $)? Before you flame me about the benfits of coilovers, I recognize the performance difference, it's just that the majority of people will not push their cars hard enough to warrant coil-overs, much less take the time to properly set up coilovers.

I would have to say the Ground Control coilover system is the best for the buck. I have em.

Yes, for your price range the Ground Control/AGX setup is best. I am extremely happy with the handling/adjustability. I don't think anything else is much better (for the money - I've owned Teins and driven Leda's hard enough to know) until you get into the almost $3000 price range for DMS Coilovers.

Can I have more info on the Ground Controls? Also how much are they? I thought coilovers pretty much replaces the springs and struts setup. At least thats what the TEIN HAs does.

Im getting TransAutoSport coilovers to go w/my AGX's. I'll be getting them from RalliSpec. I can give a review of them after if you would like.

I remember the gound control/AGX group buy a while ago...Im really mad that I didnt get in on it. Where can I get this setup, and what spring rates would be best for a daily driver? (these are going on a 98 OBS) As long as they handle better than stock and I can adjust the ride height, than thats what I want!

I've just fitted TAS coilover conversions to my GTB and I'm very impressed so far - it was guess work with the rates and I still need to fit some low rate helper springs but so far so good (with Bilstein struts by the way)
