Help!! Brakes are mushy after pad install!!
Today I installed some new barke pads and after reassembling everything the brakes are completely mushy. I can push the brake pedal all the way to the floorboard, then when I release and push again, the brakes finally engage. It is like you have to pump them to get them to work. I did accidently remove the brake line and a little fluid was lost but not much. Any suggestions?

You need to bleed the brakes. I have to do this all the time on my CRX (Race car) and
about twice a week end. When you pushed the piston back in install the new thinker pads you, changed the pressure through out the system Its a two person job, and you start with the tire farthest from the master cylinder, and work you way closer. once your done your brakes should be rock solid, If not take it in to get look at. I am at [email protected] If you need more detailed directions. Hope that helps |

4 channel ABS equipped cars don't follow the standard bleeding pattern. You still end up at the master cylinder (in our case, and in most cases left front), but this is the right order: LR, RF, RR, LF

Since you have ABS the ABS has to be on when bleeding brakes. Keep the ABS on by turning the key one notch.

One more thing, I believe you don't need to bleed the master cylinder, just the 4 other.
