Angry problem w/OEM sub?

Hey guys, I purchased an OEM sub from someone on this site, and a harness from a vendor on here as well. Well I finally got around to installing it this weekend. It was easy removing the radio, and running the harness. When I plugged it in to the radio I get nothing. Am I missing something here? Did I get a bad sub? I emailed the guy I bought the sub from, we'll see he gets back to me.

hmmnn, let me check if I see a factory fader, and yeah I checked the connections time after time, nothing. I don't think this guy scammed me since he was willing to meet me for pick-up.

Edit: I just checked, I can't find any sub fader, and yes I played with the gain knob on the sub.

Was the harness you got a ' Y ' type harness? One plug to the radio, one plug to the factory harness and the third to the subwoofer. There was also a flying ground lead that connected to the side of the radio bracket with a screw.

Yes that was the harness, I didn't connect the flying ground lead to the stereo though. Do you think that is the issue, I did ground it to something else.

I'm in the same boat. I purchased a used sub from ebay and can't get it to work. It will work if you push on the speaker with your finger to jump start it but it won't kick in on its own. I think I'm going to purchase something else as I think the stock unit is a piece of crap.
