Default upgraded sub with aftermarket deck?

Can this be done? Im not sure. Let me know thanks.

Yes. The sub connects externally through its adapter harness, so you just unplug the stock HU and plug in your aftermarket one. The only exception is if you buy a HU that's preamp only and has no speaker outputs. Then the sub won't work because it uses the rear speaker outputs.

ok the headunit i have in it now is a clarion dxz635mp has front / rear / sub pre amp out puts. will this still work or I will have to buy something else?

It will work as long as it has internal amps, the sub and pre outs don't matter as the OEM sub doesn't use them.
If you don't have the sub yet and are shopping for a used one, be absolutely certain before buying that the complete harness is included. Very often the harness is missing or incomplete/cut. A replacement is expensive (about $100).
