Default Turbo timer question

Okay I got the AVO turbo timer on my car, I paid an arm and a dick for it too...but here is the deal when I shut off the car the engine is does not stay on I have to re-start the car and then shut it off in order for it to stay on or rev the engine above 1000RPM because my car idles any where between 500 and 800 RPM's ...anyone having the same problem or has had the same problem? what did you do to fix it? you think I did not grounded the car properly? unfortunatly this turbo timer really didn't have any instructions with it...it sucks because I can't really program it...anyway your input is much appreciated.
