Have a Nice Day? The landscapers dug up my cat.

We buried my poor cat in one of our gardens in the backyard in 1997. We're making some major changes in the backyard: adding a patio, redesigning the gardens, cutting down some trees, and rebuilding our deck.

Apparently, my dad forgot about Mitten and didn't mark off the area he was buried. Needless to say, the guys were clearing that area to put in some needlepoint hollies and unearthed a black bag, opened it, and freaked out. There are some very disgruntled and disturbed manual laborers on my porch right now.

IBtittywop. I'm not looking in that bag.

What did the workers say/do? Did they come ring your doorbell and let you know? Did they toss the bag across the yard?

Maybe it'll come back as the undead and murder the landscapers one by one in a flurry of furry vengeance, for interrupting its eternal rest.

a summer job i had when i was younger was working for a park service. once, they made us clean out this sewer. there were literally 11 dead animals, some recently dead, some completely kaput. we had to shovel them into garbage bags, then drive them to the dump.

don't work for park service, kids =)

Definately post of the day. Heck, maybe even the week.

I don't usually like to laugh at peoples maladies, but that was just funny.

YEs, so why did you use a plastic bag?

When my dog died, i just dug up a hole in my backyard and put him in there and shoveled the dirt back on.

Makes that part of my backyard green and vibrant.

AAAAHHHHHHH I LOOKED IN THE BAAAAAG! WHY DID I DO THAT?!?!

I'm guessing my dad buried him in a bag to deter anything that might want to dig him up and drag kitty parts all over the lawn.

Only one of the guys speaks english, so he was the ambassador. All he said was "Ma'am, we found what we think is a cat. We're just going to leave it on the garden table until you figure out something to do with it." It started raining, so I moved him into the shed and couldn't help myself. Had to look. So sorry I did. I need a drink BADLY.

I have no experience in this, but it seems like you don't really want to see half decomposed cat in a bag. Therefore, next time your dad buries a cat I suggest that you should make sure he seals it up nice and tight. Make sure there's no air in it, also bury it deeper.

You looked in it because you were curious. Sometimes you need to not be curious. For example, ignore the urge to be curious and taste poop. It's clearly not a good idea as intriguing as it may be. Remember now, curiousity killed the cat!

I recommend throwing the carcass in the trash, that way you won't have to worry about it.

I've enver understood the human fascination with dead bodies.
