Modifications, repairs, etc.. to your vehicle are taxable, so truthfully they should be doing a weight reading and listing any unusual parts on your vehicle, including things that need to be repaired. That way when you come back they would have something to say that your car has changed.

So the truth is that you should pay taxes and whatever other fees. However, if you claim you bought the stock parts at an auto wrecker really cheap, and the customs guy was too dumb to notice how new your custom parts were, then you may get away with paying 'less' than you would pay on the new parts?

A total scammer would line up buyers for the stock parts and then drive back across the border with nothing to pay taxes on. You might have to lie and claim that you had the parts on when you came through the first time, but at that point they could do something as simple as asking you to prove you purchased the parts in Canada, and that would suck. So really if you got caught you'd be best to just tell the truth and pay the fees, which would suck too.

Or you could buy Canadian and support you local shops. Good shops won't start, or stick around even, without customers.

Oh and you can get cheaper prices than sticker at almost any shop, it doesn't make them a rip-off.

You should declear all your goods when you cross back. I heard people say Custom peeps do browse these forums. Why save a few hundred bucks if you can be fined a few thousands and get your butt violated with latex gloves?

give these guys a call , they can get lots of prodrive stuff and give the I-club a discount
http://www.totalautosport.com/products/products.html

I think buying stuff south of the border, just takes longer with way more hassle and all said and done works out to about the same price, unless you can get a meca deal

Do the newer 04/05 sti gauge clusters have the cruise control indicator? The older cars have a light on the switch..

I don't like the blue fabric much, but I like the way the grill is on the speaker.. I wonder what it would cost to order a set of those new door panels?
